Job summary

MasTec Civil in Columbia, SC seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to run excavators and bulldozers on major highway projects. You will operate equipment, perform inspections, and support safety protocols on busy construction sites.

Ideal candidates have 5–9+ years of construction-related experience, with strict attention to safety rules and coordination with a field team. This is a full-time, on-site role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Construction related experience (roads, highways, bridges, etc.), 5 - 9+ years experience for Excavator or Bulldozer.
• Have required documentation evidencing competency or certifications as required by the industry standards and/or governmental agencies.
• Completion of High School or secondary education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including excavator, dozers, graders, dump trucks, front-end loaders, compactors, scrapers, and water trucks while following safety rules.
• Perform daily safety and operational inspections and communicate deficiencies to supervision.
• Maintain equipment and assist with fuel, maintenance, and load handling as required.
• Collaborate with team and supervisors to ensure efficient material movement on site.
