Job summary

Legends Global, located on-site in Tucson, AZ, seeks a Senior Events Manager to oversee staff and all facility operations for the Tucson Convention Center complex. You will coordinate with clients, vendors and internal teams to ensure successful events and compliant contract execution.

The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, prepare estimates, and supervise Event Services and Operations staff, including potential MOD duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; four-year college or university preferred.
  • 2-4 years related public facility management experience.
  • Theater experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of facility management services and equipment; AutoCAD experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises staff and oversees all aspects of facility operations related to events.
  • Assist in hiring, training and supervising Event Services staff.
  • Meets with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.
  • Coordinates activities with service contractors for assigned events.
  • Guides clients in preparation of events by interpreting contract provisions, policies and procedures.
  • Keeps clients informed on deadlines, floor plans, insurance, and other details.
  • Prepares cost estimates and monitors final billing.
  • Communicates detailed requirements to operational departments and clients clearly and promptly.
  • Maintains thorough event records and monitors facility setup when needed.
  • Serves as primary liaison between clients and facility departments.
  • Monitors in-house events and maintains close contact with clients and staff.
  • Follows up on client requests, concerns and problems.
  • Attends planning and facility meetings in support of operations.
  • Distribute three-week schedule of events; develop policies for Event Services, Guest Services and Parking.
  • Serves as MOD (Manager on Duty) as required; perform other duties as assigned.

The Tucson Convention Center, including the Tucson Arena, Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, and Leo Rich Theater, has an opening for a skilled Senior Events Manager. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Supervises staff and oversees all aspects of facility operations related to events.
  • Assist in hiring, training and supervising Event Services staff.
  • Meets with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.
  • Coordinates activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events.

  • Keeps clients informed as to status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details.

  • Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments and clients.
  • Maintains thorough and complete event records.
  • Monitors and supervises facility set-up when necessary.

  • Maintains the proper image and generates positive public relations with patrons and staff

Supervisory Responsibilities

Will serve as the resource for training the Event Services team on administrative and event day procedures. Will also directly supervise the Event related staff and Operations staff when required. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred.
  • 2-4 years related public facility management experience.
  • Theater Experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the principles of facility management, services and equipment for a similar facility.
  • Operate AutoCAD design software preferred.
