European Auto Garage in Knoxville, TN is seeking an experienced European Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair premium European vehicles, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Audi, VW, MINI and more. You will handle advanced diagnostics, CAN-bus issues, and programming, while mentoring junior techs and maintaining high-quality standards.

The role emphasizes independent problem solving, precise diagnostics, and teamwork within a dealership-like environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.
At least 3 years of European vehicle experience.
Ability to diagnose and repair vehicles independently.
Experience using factory-level or European diagnostic equipment.
Proficiency with scan tools, oscilloscopes, multimeters, smoke machines, and pressure-testing equipment.
Complete professional tool set.
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to produce quality work while meeting productivity expectations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with technicians, advisors, parts personnel, and management.
Willingness to accept coaching and continuously improve.

Responsibilities

Independently diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
Diagnose complex issues without relying solely on fault codes.
Read wiring diagrams and perform proper circuit testing.
Utilize professional diagnostic equipment and advanced testing tools.
Perform major mechanical repairs, including timing, cooling, suspension, engine, and transmission work.
Diagnose CAN-bus and network communication issues.
Perform European vehicle programming, coding, and module replacement when applicable.
Complete thorough digital vehicle inspections with photos and notes.
Document test results, repair recommendations, and completed repairs.
Follow diagnostic, dispatch, and quality-control procedures.
Protect customer vehicles and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards and minimizing comebacks.
Mentor less-experienced technicians when needed.
