Job summary

Eleven Recruiting is seeking an experienced ETL Engineer in Los Angeles, CA for a leading financial services client. The role focuses on maintaining and modernizing ETL pipelines, improving performance, and supporting cloud-native migrations with SQL Server, SSIS, and Python.

Ideal candidates will have 6–10+ years of data engineering experience, strong SQL skills, and familiarity with cloud platforms like Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory. Some weekend/on-call support may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or related field.
• 6–10+ years of data engineering in production environments.
• Strong experience with SQL Server and SSIS, designing, maintaining, debugging ETL packages.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python; familiarity with one system language (C#, Java, C++) is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and ability to clarify requirements for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot ETL pipelines built with SQL Server and SSIS.
• Modernize legacy ETL workflows to improve performance and resilience; support cloud-native migrations.
• Contribute to incremental adoption of cloud tech (Microsoft Fabric, etc.) as modernization progresses.
• Evaluate trade-offs and make practical decisions balancing modernization with day-to-day operations.
