Job summary

FORTNA is expanding its North American Distribution & Fulfillment group and seeks a senior Lead Estimator to craft accurate cost estimates for large-scale material handling projects. You will guide the estimating process, collaborate with engineering, software, procurement, and sales, and influence pricing strategy while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires deep experience in warehouse automation, strong analytical skills and the ability to work across teams within Eastern and Western Time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; equivalent education/experience.
• Candidates without a degree should have ~10+ years estimating experience in material handling, warehouse automation, or supply chain.
• 8+ years of estimating experience for complex material handling or automation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of capital budget and contract estimates for complex material handling and warehouse automation projects.
• Analyze project scope, technical requirements and commercial objectives to build cost models.
• Collaborate with engineering, software, project management, procurement, sales and SMEs to create comprehensive estimates.
• Maintain estimating tools, cost libraries and databases to improve accuracy.
• Mentor junior estimators and share best practices across the team.
• Suggest pricing strategies and participate in executive cost and price reviews.
• Drive process improvements and tool development for estimating activities.
• Serve as delegate for Estimation Manager when needed.
