Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Senior Estimator with a focus on Structural Steel to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in the construction industry, particularly those with experience in the steel sector. As a Senior Estimator, you will play an integral role in the planning, management, and execution of our construction projects. This is a permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity for you to apply your knowledge and skills in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel components of construction projects.
• Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Use estimating software such as Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and clients, negotiating pricing when necessary.
• Prepare and present reports detailing estimates and project progress.
• Ensure compliance with AISC and other relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Assist in the training and development of less experienced estimators.
• Continually monitor industry trends and advancements to stay current on best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on structural steel.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Fabsuite, Fabtrol, and Tekla EPM.
• Extensive knowledge of AISC standards and other relevant industry regulations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
• A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Certification from a recognized body such as the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) is a plus.
