Job summary

GRN Memphis is seeking a Senior Estimator to develop accurate, competitive estimates for complex signage and architectural graphics projects. You will review drawings, specs, and bid documents, working closely with Sales, Design, Engineering, Operations, and vendors to drive cost-effective solutions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of estimating experience in signage or related industries and strong Excel and cost-modeling skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating or cost engineering experience in signage or related industry.
• Ability to read architectural drawings, shop drawings, specs and technical documents.
• Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, installation, labor and cost drivers.
• Experience with value engineering, bid strategy, and vendor pricing.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates for interior, exterior, illuminated, architectural, and digital signage projects.
• Review drawings, specs, surveys, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Estimate materials, fabrication labor, installation, freight, equipment, subcontractors, and outsourced manufacturing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support BOM and labor development.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, constructability, and cost impacts.
• Support bid strategy, value engineering, vendor pricing, and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Assist with project handoff and review estimated versus actual costs.
• Help improve estimating tools, cost libraries, labor standards, and departmental best practices.

GRN Memphis is supporting a growing organization in the signage and visual communications industry in the search for an experienced Senior Estimator.

This role is ideal for someone who understands how signage is designed, fabricated, sourced, installed, and costed. The Senior Estimator will develop accurate, competitive estimates for complex signage and architectural graphics projects while partnering with Sales, Design, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, vendors, and installation teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates for interior, exterior, illuminated, architectural, and digital signage projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, surveys, bid documents, and project scopes.
• Estimate materials, fabrication labor, installation, freight, equipment, subcontractors, and outsourced manufacturing.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and support BOM and labor development.
• Identify scope gaps, project risks, constructability concerns, and cost impacts.
• Support bid strategy, value engineering, vendor pricing, and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Assist with project handoff and review estimated versus actual project costs.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of estimating or cost engineering experience, preferably in signage, architectural graphics, custom fabrication, or a related industry.
• Experience estimating custom manufactured signage or architectural elements strongly preferred.
• Ability to read architectural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong understanding of materials, fabrication, installation, labor, and project cost drivers.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP, estimating, takeoff, or cost-modeling systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with architectural signage, wayfinding, illuminated signage, national programs, custom fabrication, installation estimating, or value engineering is highly relevant.
