Econolite seeks a technically skilled professional to quote traffic cabinet projects, create BOMs, and work with engineering to produce production-ready documents. The role emphasizes accurate cost estimating, bid preparation, and cross-functional communication across sales, engineering, and production teams.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree or extensive traffic-related experience, strong MS Office skills, and foundational AutoCAD abilities, in a fast-paced ITS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 4+ years traffic-related experience.
• Understanding plan sheets, bid documents, engineering documents and specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic databases/spreadsheets.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
• Basic AutoCAD skills are a must.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer bid documents, specifications, and intersection plans.
• Convert customer specifications into a complete estimated quotation for bids or requests.
• Ask and answer technical questions to ensure accurate quotations.
• Use Agile system to open a quote ECO, build BOM, and cost cabinet.
• Create formal quotation letters using a template.
• Communicate information to cabinet engineering for production documents.
• Coordinate with engineering/production on BOM questions.
• Complete an item card in D365 ERP after the quotation is completed.

We are seeking someone who has excellent communication skills, personal management, and prioritizing skills, and who is excited about working within a close team environment. In return, you will have the opportunity to interface with many Econolite Sales Personnel, Distributors, and customers throughout the United States, Canada, and some international agencies.

DUTIES

• Read and interpret customer bid documents, specifications. and intersection plans.
• Convert customer specifications/special provisions and requirements into a complete estimated quotation for sales to be able to quote the specific bid or customer request.
• In the process, work to ensure that all technical questions about the request are asked and answered so that an accurate quotation can be completed.
• Using our Agile software system, you will need to open a quote ECO, create a bill of materials for the intended cabinet, and perform costing activities to obtain the total estimated cost of the cabinet.
• Create a formal quotation letter using a template.
• In addition to creating the estimate, you must be able to communicate the information needed for cabinet engineering to review the documents provided so they can create a working set of production documents when needed.
• Participate in any communication from cabinet engineering and production about the cabinet quotation provided and the information therein when they have questions about the bill of materials provided to them by the estimating department.
• Perform the task of completing an item card in our D365 ERP system after the quotation is completed for use by sales.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or at least 4 years traffic related work experience in a relevant technical Traffic Signal role.
• Must have a clear understanding of, and ability to work with, plan sheets, bid documents, engineering documents and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Strong computer software skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications, such as MS Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
• Basic AutoCad skills are a must

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time exempt position is $75,000-$85,000 per year plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
