Austin Bridge & Road is seeking a Senior Estimator for Heavy Civil/Heavy Highway construction at our main office in Coppell, Texas. This role requires strong heavy civil construction estimating skills to develop detailed cost estimates for transportation infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges. The Senior Estimator will analyze plans and specifications, supervise a team of estimators, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and selecting estimating pursuits.
• Manage and schedule resources for estimating and bidding processes.
• Review contract risks, initiate contract reviews, and ensure compliance.
• Lead and support the preparation of cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project owners to ensure plans and specifications are met.
• Review estimates from other estimators for accuracy and alignment with project plans.
• Oversee creation of pre-bid schedules.
• Lead estimate review meetings with the operations manager.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations to ensure competitive pricing and scope coverage.
• Ensure timely submission of bids in compliance with requirements.
• Manage project buyout and budgeting, including negotiations.
• Supervise estimators as needed for specific projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 5 years in estimating.
• Extensive experience with structure projects.
• Proven estimating experience with TxDOT or similar state DOT projects.
• Proficiency in HeavyBid by HCSS or similar software.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).

Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in heavy civil construction, including structure projects, estimating projects from $1M to $50M.
• Strong background in cost control, project execution, and managing estimating teams.
• Legal authorization to work for any employer in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).
