Consigli Construction Co. is seeking a Lead Estimator in the Estimating division.

This remote-based role travels to project sites for owner meetings and leads estimating on complex Mission Critical projects, including conceptual estimates, budgets, value engineering, and subcontractor relations. The ideal candidate has a BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with 5+ years of estimating experience and 10+ years in construction, strong Excel proficiency, and experience with estimating

Supervisory Duties: Yes

Lead all estimating efforts on the most complex and large-scale projects in the Mission Critical market, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating.

This job is remote-based but requires travel to project sites for team and owner meetings, as needed.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Ensure that the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently, and client expectations are exceeded throughout the duration of the project(s).
• Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects.
• Effectively facilitates collaboration amongst team members.
• Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
• Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work.
• Understand the full scope of the project through document review and asking questions of the design team and owner.
• Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
• Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
• Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates.
• Manage Subcontractor solicitation & selection process.
• Prepare Exhibit B, and/or scope sheets.
• Ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
• Prepare an in-house budget and GMP.

Required Experience

• 10+ years of experience in construction.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft office, especially Excel.
• Proficiency in specialized estimating software.
