Job summary

Consigli Construction Co. is seeking a lead Estimator to manage all estimating activities for the most complex Mission Critical projects. This remote-based role travels to project sites for team and owner meetings as needed, reporting to the Chief Estimator within the Estimating division.

The candidate will develop budgets, perform value engineering, manage subcontractor solicitations, and ensure bid quality with rigorous cost control. Strong MS Office and estimating software skills required.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with 5+ years estimating field experience.
  • 10+ years of construction experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Proficiency in specialized estimating software.
  • Understanding of market conditions on pricing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and client expectations are exceeded.
  • Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Facilitate collaboration amongst team members.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor.
  • Understand the full scope of the project through document review and questions.
  • Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
  • Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
  • Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates.
  • Manage Subcontractor solicitation & selection process.
  • Prepare Exhibit B, and/or scope sheets.
  • Ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
  • Prepare an in-house budget and GMP.

Supervisory Duties: Yes

Lead all estimating efforts on the most complex and large-scale projects in the Mission Critical market, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating.

This job is remote-based but requires travel to project sites for team and owner meetings, as needed.
