Job summary

Consigli Construction Co. is seeking a Senior Estimator in New York, NY to lead all estimating efforts on complex, large-scale projects. You will prepare time, cost, and labor estimates, coordinate with clients and subcontractors, and drive value engineering.

The role requires 10+ years in construction and 5+ years in estimating, with strong Excel and estimating software skills; reports to the Chief Estimator and supervises the estimating team.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with 5+ years in estimating field.
• 10+ years of experience in construction.
• Proficiency in Excel and specialized estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead all estimating efforts for complex, large-scale projects, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, value engineering, and subcontractor relations.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish the work's value.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other docs to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Coordinate and facilitate collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
• Manage subcontractor solicitation and bid process; prepare Exhibit B/scope sheets.
• Prepare in-house budgets and GMP; perform value engineering and risk analysis.

Salary Range: $185,000 - $240,000

Lead all estimating efforts on the most complex and large-scale projects, including conceptual estimates, negotiated bids, budgets, general conditions, systems studies and comparisons, value engineering, subcontractor relations and staying abreast of industry developments applicable to estimating.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Ensure that the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently, and client expectations are exceeded throughout the duration of the project(s).
• Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs and expectations.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimate for projects.
• Effectively facilitates collaboration amongst team members.
• Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
• Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for material and labor to establish a value for the work.
• Understand the full scope of the project through document review and asking questions of the design team and owner.
• Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
• Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
• Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates.
• Manage Subcontractor solicitation & selection process.
• Prepare Exhibit B, and/or scope sheets.
• Ensure quality control of bids and estimates.
• Prepare an in-house budget and GMP.

Required Experience

• Understanding of the influence of market conditions on pricing.
