Job summary

Michels Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring all requirements are captured to win projects in the utility infrastructure sector.

You will follow up with subcontractors, coordinate with Project Management on bids and budgets, and deliver highly accurate work with strong attention to detail and numbers. 25% travel is required; bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 7+ years' experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering required.
• Estimating experience in the utility industry and/or mission critical/data center projects preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong Microsoft Office experience, including advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate bid specifications and drawings to ensure all requirements are captured to win projects.
• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure bids are received and accurate.

Location: East Coast Region | Full-time | 25% Travel Required

Position Summary

As a Senior Estimator, your key responsibilities will be to evaluate bid specifications and drawings, ensuring that we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Follow-up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received, and work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Critical for success are the abilities to produce highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Communication skills, both oral and written, are a must. A strong understanding and being comfortable working with numbers has been a key success to this role.

What It Takes

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering and 7+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of both
• Estimating experience and exposure to the utility industry and/or mission critical/data center projects
• Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record
• Solid Microsoft Office experience, with advanced Excel experience
• Ability to travel 25% of the time
