Job summary

Walashek Industrial & Marine Inc. is seeking an experienced estimator to cost and quote manufacturing, ship repair, and industrial repair projects.

You will determine procedures, crew needs, and subcontractors to maintain margins, while coordinating with internal teams and suppliers. Responsibilities include preparing BOM quotes, reading blueprints and technical manuals, and maintaining the contract pipeline.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or some college or technical training preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in estimating and planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for manufacturing, projects, or services to aid bidding.
• Prepare competitive fixed-price quotations for maritime ship repair/refit and industrial repair/refit.
• Determine work procedures, crew size, machines/tooling, sub-contractors, material, to achieve margins.
• Coordinate with Walashek staff and trades to gather information and requirements.
• Conduct ship-checks/site-checks to properly scope work.
• Obtain accurate BOM quotations in a timely manner.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and clients.
• Maintain contract pipeline with GM, Program Managers and Chief Estimator.
• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals for manufacturing.
• Operate MS Office applications, including MS Project.
• Commitment to company values and safety program.
• Ability to work under deadlines with minimal supervision.
