Job summary

Complete Fence is seeking a Senior Estimator in Batavia, IL to lead bid development, takeoffs, and pricing for complex, high-value projects. You will mentor junior estimators and collaborate closely with Sales and Operations to ensure accurate, competitive proposals and smooth project handoffs.

The role requires strong reading of construction documents, proficiency with Stack takeoff, CAD, and Excel, and a focus on accuracy, timing, and profitability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction (fencing or related trades preferred).
• Advanced ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Proficiency with on-screen takeoff software (Stack preferred), CAD software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong financial and analytical skills with expertise in cost modeling and market pricing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed bids, proposals, and takeoffs for complex projects.
• Review junior estimators’ work for accuracy and consistency.
• Develop estimating strategies aligned with profitability and competitive positioning.
• Partner with Sales and Operations to evaluate scope, schedule, and budget.
• Lead handoffs of awarded projects to Operations and mentor junior staff.
