Job summary

Fessler & Bowman is seeking an experienced Estimator to manage all aspects of estimating for commercial and industrial projects. The role focuses on thorough take-offs, subcontractor pricing, risk assessment, and creating complete bid budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least five (5) years of construction experience.
• Proficient in using Bid2Win estimating software or similar tool(s).
• Estimating medium-to-large commercial and industrial projects.
• Creative and results-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Develops innovative, accurate estimates consistent with Fessler and Bowman’s costs.
• Conducts thorough project take-offs, assembling quantities and man-hour requirements.
• Solicits subcontractor and supplier pricing and reviews qualifications.
• Identifies project-specific risk issues and mitigation strategies.
• Reviews project plans and communicates with stakeholders to confirm scope.
• Develops project plan, schedule and proposal documents for estimates.
• Reviews estimates for other team members and supports Go/No-Go decisions.
• Creates complete project budgets for active bids.
• Assembles documentation and prepares client presentations for proposals.
