Job summary

Lunda Construction Co. is seeking an Estimator for Heavy Civil, Roads & Bridges to support projects across Milwaukee, Hilbert, or Black River Falls, WI.

The role focuses on quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and bid package development with a collaborative team. Ideal candidates bring a Civil Engineering/Construction Management background and at least 5 years of estimating experience, plus proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years of previous construction estimating or engineering experience; 8+ years can substitute for the degree.
• Knowledge of construction materials and recognition of material designations; familiarity with W sections and HP sections.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and MS Excel.
• Strong interpersonal communication and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Calculate quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per person-hour, and equipment.
• Research historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity reports) to develop guidelines and precedents for estimates.
• Develop project update and bid package estimate documents and maintain backup files.
• Monitor conceptual estimates against actual cost data and assist in related analyses.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
