Job summary

Hire Consulting Services is seeking a Senior Estimator, Heavy Civil to lead bids on highway and bridge projects in the Raleigh area. This role focuses on takeoffs, pricing, and strategy for NCDOT work, with ownership of bids from estimate through bid day.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in heavy civil estimating, DOT bid leadership, and experience with production-based pricing. Relocation to the Triangle area is welcome for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications.
• Develop bid strategy, risk review and pricing with leadership.
• Attend prebid meetings and site visits.
• Track NCDOT lettings and build the bid schedule.

Location: Raleigh, NC (Triangle area)

Industry: Heavy Civil / Highway / Bridge / Infrastructure Construction

A large, well established heavy civil contractor is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead bids on highway and bridge work in the Raleigh area. This is a strong opportunity for a Senior or Lead Estimator with DOT heavy civil bid experience who wants a stable employer with a deep backlog and a real voice on bid day. You'll own estimates from takeoff through bid day on highway, bridge and infrastructure projects, much of it NCDOT work. Triangle locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of heavy civil estimating, with lead estimator experience on DOT bids
• Highway, bridge, earthwork, paving and drainage estimating experience
• Strong takeoff and production based pricing skills
• Contractor side estimating, not design side cost estimating
• HCSS HeavyBid is a plus
• NCDOT bid experience is a plus
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is a plus
• Based in the Triangle or ready to relocate to the Raleigh area
