Job summary

RRC Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Estimator for heavy civil work in the Raleigh area. You will lead highway and bridge bids, perform takeoffs, develop pricing strategies, and manage subcontractor quotes. DOT bid experience and a strong production-based approach are essential.

You will mentor junior estimators, participate in prebid activities, and ensure accurate bid schedules with a focus on risk and incentive alignment. This is a full-time role with a stable backlog.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of heavy civil estimating with lead experience on DOT bids.
• Experience on highway, bridge, earthwork, paving and drainage estimates.
• Strong takeoff and production-based pricing skills.
• Contractor-side estimating experience preferred.
• NCDOT bid experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates on heavy civil highway and bridge bids from takeoff through bid day.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specs.
• Build crew, equipment and production-based cost estimates.
• Solicit, level and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop bid strategy, risk review and pricing with leadership.
• Attend prebid meetings and site visits.
• Track NCDOT lettings and build the bid schedule.
• Mentor junior estimators and maintain the estimating database.
• Hand awarded work to the project team with a clean budget.
• Review bid results and apply lessons to future estimates.

A large, well established heavy civil contractor is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead bids on highway and bridge work in the Raleigh area. This is a strong opportunity for a Senior or Lead Estimator with DOT heavy civil bid experience who wants a stable employer with a deep backlog and a real voice on bid day. You'll own estimates from takeoff through bid day on highway, bridge and infrastructure projects, much of it NCDOT work. Triangle locals are great, and candidates ready to relocate are welcome.

• NCDOT bid experience is a plus
• Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is a plus
• Based in the Triangle or ready to relocate to the Raleigh area
