Job summary

Liesfeld Contractor in Richmond, VA is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preparation and development of accurate, competitive estimates for heavy civil and site development projects in the Greater Richmond region.

You will coordinate pricing with subcontractors, review bid documents, and guide the estimating team from preconstruction through project award, ensuring estimates align with company capabilities and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of construction estimating, operations, or related discipline.
• Experience preparing detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and cost analyses.
• Knowledge of heavy civil construction, site development, earthwork, utilities.
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project schedules.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Excel and estimating software.
• Valid driver’s license and U.S. work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed estimates for heavy civil and site development projects.
• Review drawings, bid documents, and requirements to establish scope.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and price labor, materials, equipment, and subs.
• Develop bid documentation and estimating models.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for pricing.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
• Mentor junior estimators and improve processes.
