Job summary

FCC Construction, Inc. is seeking an experienced estimator to quantify and support the estimating department on major heavy civil infrastructure projects across the US and Canada.

The role collaborates with project managers, bid managers, and senior leadership to produce competitive bids. Applicants should have a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background with 10–12 years of heavy civil/roadway estimating experience and strong proficiency with estimate software (Bluebeam, Planswift,

Qualifications

• Civil engineering or construction management degree or equivalent experience.
• 10–12 years of progressive heavy civil/roadway estimating experience.
• Proficiency with On Screen Takeoff and procurement software (Bluebeam, Planswift, Smartbid, Openroads, Agtek, P6).
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledgeable about internal Cost Systems, Schedules, and Work Breakdown Structures.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret contract documents to develop detailed cost estimates for large projects.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and study bid items.
• Coordinate communications with customers and engineers.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier quotations and maintain contact databases.
• Ensure timely final proposal submittals and participate in bid reviews and hand-offs.
