Job summary

Consigli Construction Co., Inc. in Portland, ME is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead complex estimating efforts for large projects. You will analyze drawings, prepare time, cost and labor estimates, and collaborate with design teams, clients, and subcontractors.

The role requires BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management, 8+ years in construction and 3+ years in estimating. Proficiency in Excel and estimating software is essential; strong market pricing insight is expected.

Qualifications

BS or MS in Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 3 years of estimating experience.
8+ years of experience in construction.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Proficiency in specialized estimating software.
Understanding of market conditions on pricing.

Responsibilities

Ensure the estimating process runs smoothly and efficiently; exceed client expectations throughout the project.
Build relationships to understand client, designer and subcontractor needs.
Analyze drawings, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost and labor estimates.
Facilitate collaboration among team members.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
Participate in business development activities, presentations and interviews.
Prepare quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for materials and labor.
Understand full scope through document review and questions to design team/owner.
Prepare value engineering and risk analysis.
Prepare qualifications and assumptions for the estimate.
Prepare cost comparisons/reconcile with previous estimates.
Manage Subcontractor solicitation & selection process.
Prepare Exhibit B and/or scope sheets.
Ensure bid quality control and accuracy of estimates.
Prepare an in-house budget and GMP.
