William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is hiring an experienced Mid-Senior Estimator with extensive experience in heavy civil, highways, and roadways.

Responsibilities

1. Review, analyze, and interpret contract documents for accurate, detailed cost estimates.
2. Develop preliminary budget estimates and itemized summaries for opportunity pursuits.
3. Identify critical issues and develop risk exposure summaries with cost impacts.
4. Provide strategic and value engineering solutions through creative thinking.
5. Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
6. Review quantity takeoff comparisons for accuracy.
7. Collaborate with scheduling staff and operations to develop bid schedules.
8. Present complete and accurate estimates to support decision-making.
9. Represent the company at pre-bid meetings and site visits.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management, or related experience.
2. Minimum 5 years of heavy civil estimating experience.
3. Extensive experience with earthwork and underground utilities; knowledge of PCC paving and concrete is a plus.
4. Equivalent education and work experience may be considered.

Requirements

1. Strong knowledge of earthwork, underground drainage, sewer, watermain, and roadway construction, preferably with IDOT/INDOT experience.
2. Attention to detail and organization skills.
3. Self-motivated and capable of managing time efficiently.
4. Willingness to travel for pre-bids, site visits, and meetings.
5. Proficiency in Bid2Win or similar estimating software, Microsoft Office; Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD are a plus.
6. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

Work Environment

• Combination of office work and occasional site visits.
• Travel between Illinois and Indiana offices as needed.
• Site visits may require PPE and outdoor exposure.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Sitting or standing for extended periods.
• Occasional travel to project sites.
