Job summary

Acloché LLC in Southern California seeks a Senior Estimator to lead bid development for Caltrans, heavy civil, and airport projects across the region, with emphasis on production-based estimating and risk assessment.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of Caltrans/public works estimating, strong knowledge of Caltrans specs, and experience coordinating with subcontractors to ensure complete scope and competitive pricing. This is a full-time on-site role in San Diego County.

Qualifications

10+ years of heavy civil construction estimating experience.
Proven experience estimating Caltrans highway and California public works projects.
Strong knowledge of Caltrans specs, plans, bid requirements, and construction standards.
Extensive understanding of earthwork, grading, paving, structural concrete, and utilities.
Airport/FAA infrastructure estimating experience is highly desirable.
Experience developing production-based estimates with labor/crews and subcontractor pricing.

Responsibilities

Lead preparation of detailed estimates and competitive bids for large-scale heavy civil projects.
Review Caltrans standards, plans, special provisions, drawings, and contract docs.
Develop pricing for labor, equipment, materials, subs, and indirect costs.
Coordinate with DBE/UDBE subcontractors to meet public works requirements.
Identify bid risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
Support bid reviews and pricing strategies with senior management.
