Job summary

Bound Construction seeks a Senior Estimator for a New York-based role with projects across the Tri-State area. The ideal candidate leads bid coordination for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and EV charging projects and develops scope narratives from drawings.

With 7+ years of estimating experience, you will manage RFPs, subcontractor selection, and value engineering while delivering accurate cost plans and proactive risk management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of estimating experience, including bid coordination or related functions.
• Experience reviewing architectural and MEP drawings to develop scope narratives and bid packages.
• Ability to develop GMP and Lump Sum proposals and manage the bid process end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Respond to Client RFPs and attend site visits to assess scope and logistics.
• Review A/E drawings to develop Scope Narratives and Bid Lists.
• Draft Subcontractor RFPs, organize site visits, and manage the bid process from start to finish.
• Propose value engineering alternates and secure cost estimates as needed.
• Develop preliminary site logistics plans using Bluebeam and MS Project schedules.
• Analyze bids, perform bid leveling, and communicate risks with mitigations.
• Lead meetings with stakeholders and prepare GMP/lump-sum proposals for client submission.

Bound Construction is a dynamic Construction Management firm seeking experienced Construction Senior Estimator forfor a New York-based role with projects throughout the Tri-State area.An ideal candidate is a results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality construction projects.

As a leader in Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, and EV Charging Infrastructure projects, Bound offers the opportunity to work on diverse and exciting assignments while collaborating with industry experts. Our work environment is both challenging and client-focused.

Candidates should have over 7 years of construction experience, with expertise in interiors, mechanical, electrical, civil, or utility services.Previous Estimating or Bid Coordination experience required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respond to Client RFPs and attend site visits to assess project scope and logistics.
• Review Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing drawings to develop Scope Narratives.
• Establish project-specific Bid Lists and identify new subcontractors to expand the Master Bid List.
• Draft Subcontractor RFPs, organize site visits, and manage the bid process from start to finish.
• Propose Value Engineering Alternates, securing cost estimates as required.
• Develop preliminary Site Logistics Plans using Bluebeam and preliminary Project Schedules in MS Project.
• Analyze bids and perform comprehensive Bid Leveling to ensure accurate scope and costs have been provided.
• Communicate project risks with potential mitigations.
• Lead regular meetings with stakeholders, documenting progress and updates.
• Prepare formal GMP and Lump Sum Proposals for executive review and submission to the Client.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple subcontractors and vendors effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, and Bluebeam.
• Knowledge of MEP drawings and the ability to suggest improvements for efficient project execution.
• Valid Driver’s License and Automobile required.

Required Education & Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in estimating, including bid coordination or related functions.

Salary: $175,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year (commensurate with skills & experience)
