Senior Estimator

Energy industry – responsible for OEM, data center, capital cost estimation, and capital budgeting.

Location: near Amarillo, Texas

Salary: $150,000 - $225,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the preparation of budget, estimates, and cost tracking for various projects.
• Use expertise in OEM, data center, capital cost estimation, and capital budgeting to inform decision‑making processes.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services.
• Review data to determine material and labor requirements and prepare itemized lists.
• Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
• Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
• Liaise with other departments to establish the scope of work while understanding the requirements of the project.
• Provide improvement recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies between estimated and actual costs.
• Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the Energy industry.
• Proven experience as a Senior Estimator or similar role, with solid understanding of OEM, data center, capital cost estimation, and capital budgeting.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills and strategic thinking.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Proficient in relevant software (e.g., CostX, MS Office).
• Detail‑oriented with a knack for research and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of the latest industry trends and ability to stay current with the latest technologies and solutions in the industry.
