McGough Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead take-offs, prepare comprehensive project estimates, and drive bidding success on commercial and industrial work. You will oversee estimation processes, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure accurate, timely submissions.

Responsibilities include developing conceptual pricing, maintaining productivity guides, and supporting pursuit activities, owner and design team meetings.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in Construction Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 10+ years of construction and estimating experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate development and bid preparation for commercial/industrial projects.
  • Mentor Estimator I/II and coordinate bid cards.
  • Lead take-off processes, substructure and structural estimate areas.
  • Coordinate with project team, subcontractors, vendors and design teams.
  • Develop conceptual pricing guides and productivity guides.
  • Support pursuit teams with RFQ/RFP responses and client meetings.

SENIOR ESTIMATORThe primary role of the Senior Estimator includes the following essential functions:Read and interpret project specifications and plans to prepare detailed, comprehensive and accurate quantity surveysPerform conceptual estimating from preliminary project parametersPrepare project estimates including self-performed work, subcontracted work and general requirementsUnderstand timelines and applicable project deadlinesMaintain current information on products, vendors, and subcontractorsPreparation of detailed quantity surveysSubcontractor/supplier bid solicitation and coordinationProvide input to the project team for the project scheduleQualifications:Required:Four-year degree in Construction Engineering or Construction Management10+ years of construction and estimating experienceGood written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical, problem solving, organization and time management skillsThorough and detail-orientedAbility to prioritize and multi-task within time constraintsSelf-starter and motivated with minimal supervisionStrong computer skillsPrevious experience with On-Screen takeoffUnderstanding of Microsoft ExcelPrevious oversight of Estimator I and/or Estimator II workPreferred:10+ years of experience participating in estimating of commercial and industrial construction projectsProfessional designation (e.g. CPE, LEED AP, DBIA, CPC, etc.)Demonstrated experience in driving productive relationships with project partners, subcontractors and vendorsOffice and Travel:Office: Role is housed at Corporate or Regional office.
