Job summary

HGC Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator who can translate plans and data into budgets, estimates, and strategies that drive project success. This role requires identifying risks, opportunities, and coordinating with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors from preconstruction through handoff.

The Senior Estimator will develop conceptual budgets, perform quantity takeoffs, review contract documents, and present value-engineering recommendations while maintaining current cost data

Qualifications

• Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMPs, and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for complete scope coverage.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals.

Responsibilities

• Identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, project risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
• Present estimate summaries, assumptions, clarifications, and value-engineering recommendations.

What You’ll Build

• Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, GMPs, and competitive bids for commercial construction projects.

• Present estimate summaries, assumptions, clarifications, and value-engineering recommendations.
• Maintain current cost data, market pricing, and estimating tools.
• Support project handoffs from preconstruction to operations.
• Use Sage Estimating and digital takeoff platforms such as Autodesk Takeoff or On-Screen Takeoff.
• Conduct site visits as needed.
