Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd. is assisting a growing structural steel company in Texas in finding a Senior Structural Steel Estimator. The role focuses on developing accurate, competitive project estimates and liaising with contractors and vendors.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial/industrial structural steel estimating experience, strong reading of drawings, and proficiency with Excel, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff. High school diploma required; advanced degrees preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial structural steel fabrication.
• Strong structural steel estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of AISC practices, standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare full lump-sum takeoffs covering material, labour, vendor, and equipment costs.
• Review structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Develop detailed estimates using Excel-based takeoff spreadsheets.
• Obtain and review vendor and subcontractor pricing.
• Communicate with General Contractors regarding project scope, questions, and schedules.
• Prepare detailed scopes of work, takeoffs, inclusions, exclusions, and qualifications.
• Work closely with the Estimating Manager to meet bid deadlines and manage the estimating schedule.
• Track submitted bids and communicate with General Contractors regarding project awards.
• Provide estimating updates and project information to internal teams and customers.

About the Opportunity

A well-established and growing structural steel organisation in the Dripping Springs, Texas area is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Steel Estimator to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator with a strong background in commercial and industrial structural steel to take on a senior-level role with responsibility for developing accurate, competitive project estimates and working closely with contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

What You'll Be Doing

• Experience with Blue-beam and On-Screen Takeoff
• A high school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred.
