Job summary

Head, LLC is seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead estimating and pricing from our Columbus, Ohio office. The role involves selectivity in pursuing work, influencing project selection, strategy, and bid execution in a leadership capacity.

The successful candidate will have extensive self-perform construction experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in estimating software and MS Office. Relocation to Columbus is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent
• 10+ years in an estimating role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in construction estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contracts
• Strong analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle estimating for targeted airfield paving opportunities.
• Develop detailed estimates for self-performed and subcontracted work.
• Develop labor, equipment, material, crew, and indirect costs.
• Perform go/no-go evaluations based on risk and margins.
• Analyze plans, specs, geotechnical data, and contract requirements.
• Develop conceptual budgets and preliminary estimates for future opportunities.
• Coordinate with ownership and operations on pursuit strategy and bid execution.
• Support active projects with preconstruction, subcontracts, pricing changes, cost impacts, and claims.
• Maintain and improve historical costs and estimating systems.
