Senior ERP Analyst

FullTime Professional Houston Corporate, Houston, TX, US

Salary Range: $115,000.00 To $140,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) Analyst to lead the functional support, optimization, and continuous improvement of our Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP environment.

This role will serve as a key liaison between Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT, translating business requirements into effective D365 F&O solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong functional knowledge of D365 F&O with hands‑on experience in requirements analysis, configuration, testing, integrations, data, and business‑process improvement. The Senior D365 F&O Analyst will participate in implementations and upgrades, manage complex production issues, lead UAT, support process improvements, and provide subject‑matter expertise to business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

D365 F&O Functional Ownership

  • Serve as a senior functional subject‑matter expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend improvements using D365 capabilities.
  • Configure and maintain D365 F&O functionality in accordance with business requirements.
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 functional support and troubleshoot complex ERP issues.
  • Evaluate system changes and their downstream impact across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.

Finance & Supply Chain

Support and provide expertise across relevant D365 modules, including:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Fixed Assets
  • Cash and Bank Management
  • Procurement and Sourcing
  • Inventory Management
  • Warehouse Management
  • Product Information Management
  • Budgeting and financial reporting

Business Analysis

  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and other business teams to understand requirements.
  • Lead requirements‑gathering sessions and document current‑and future‑state processes.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and D365 solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Challenge existing processes when standard D365 functionality can provide a better solution.

Implementation & Projects

  • Participate in D365 implementations, enhancements, upgrades, and rollouts.
  • Develop functional requirements, process flows, configuration documentation, and test scenarios.
  • Coordinate with developers, technical architects, integration teams, and external implementation partners.
  • Support data migration, integrations, cutover, go‑live, and post‑go‑live stabilization.
  • Manage assigned projects and deliverables from requirements through implementation.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Lead or coordinate System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, and release validation.
  • Develop test scripts and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate defect identification, prioritization, resolution, and retesting.
  • Validate that system changes meet business requirements without negatively affecting existing processes.

Reporting, Data & Integrations

  • Work with technical teams to resolve data and integration issues.
  • Use SQL and/or other analytical tools to investigate ERP data and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support Power BI and other reporting solutions.
  • Understand D365 integrations with third‑party applications and Microsoft technologies.
  • Assist with data quality, reconciliation, migration, and master‑data initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted ERP advisor to business stakeholders.
  • Communicate technical and functional concepts clearly to non‑technical users.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft, implementation partners, software vendors, and contractors when required.
  • Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to end users and junior analysts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of ERP experience, with significant hands‑on experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
  • Strong functional knowledge of at least one major D365 F&O area, preferably Finance, Supply Chain, or both.
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements gathering, functional analysis, configuration, testing, and production support.
  • Experience participating in or leading D365 implementations, upgrades, or major enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate those processes into ERP solutions.
  • Experience working directly with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, or other business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications, MB-310, or MB-330.
  • Experience with D365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Platform, Power Automate, or Dataverse.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with D365 integrations, APIs, and data entities.
  • Experience with data migration and Data Management Framework (DMF).
  • Experience with security roles and segregation of duties.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar application lifecycle‑management tools.
  • Experience in oil & gas, energy services, manufacturing, engineering, industrial distribution, or other asset‑intensive industries.
  • Experience working with global or multi‑entity ERP environments.
