Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation is seeking an Enterprise Risk Management Associate Director to lead the design and execution of enterprise risk programs across the organization, including RCSA, controls testing, governance, and third‑party risk management.

You will oversee a small team, partner with senior leaders, and advance risk reporting, governance, and program maturity while ensuring adherence to policies and standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of related experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, SOX, Financial Institutions or similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
• Previous leadership experience required.
• Advanced knowledge of banking operations, regulatory obligations and risk management practices.
• Experience with COSO ERM Framework, Basel, and risk frameworks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement risk programs to identify, measure, monitor, and control risks across the organization.
• Lead or assist in reporting, training, and continuous improvement initiatives within enterprise risk management.
• Oversee enhancements to risk frameworks, reporting processes, and enabling tools to improve efficiency and data quality.
• Monitor enterprise risk trends and escalation of issues when risk levels exceed thresholds.
• Manage a small team (2–4) and drive continuous improvement.
