Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Senior Ergonomic Consultant to identify musculoskeletal risk factors and lead ergonomic risk reduction strategies for policyholders. You will develop engineering and administrative controls and provide targeted consultations to improve safety, productivity, and losses.

This remote role requires residency in the Northeast or Southeast and may include travel to client sites (approximately 20–40%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Risk Management.
• Master’s degree in Ergonomics or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in a safety-related role; P&C insurance experience preferred.
• Professional safety designation (CSP/CIH/CPCU) recommended.
• No licensing required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct policyholder ergonomic assessments to identify loss sources, risk exposures, and opportunities for improvement in productivity, efficiency, and quality.
• Develop service plans to reduce frequency and severity of musculoskeletal claims and increase efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
• Travel to client sites for surveys and presentations (estimated 20–40%).
• Provide ergonomics training materials and recommendations to address losses and elevate service quality.
