Job summary

Citi’s Equity Research team in New York is seeking a Senior Associate to support the lead analyst covering the U.S. Multi-Industry and Engineering & Construction sectors, delivering high-quality, independent investment insights to institutional clients globally.

You will build and update detailed financial models, draft earnings previews and initiation notes, and participate in investor events while applying AI tools to enhance research workflows and maintain high standards of integrity.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of sell-side equity research experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Strong understanding of financial statements and corporate finance.
• Experience building financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, comps).
• Licenses: SIE, Series 63, 86, 87 (active or eligible).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Intellectual curiosity and passion for financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Build and update detailed financial models for US Multi-Industry and Engineering & Construction sectors.
• Draft and co-author equity research publications (earnings previews/recaps, initiation reports).
• Analyze company fundamentals, industry trends, and market data to identify themes, risks and opportunities.
• Understand key drivers like infrastructure spending, capex cycles, backlog trends and margins.
• Respond to client inquiries with timely perspectives on developments.
• Coordinate investor events and management meetings.
• Apply AI tools to enhance research workflows and efficiency.
• Mentor junior team members and uphold research integrity.
