Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced equity and options trader to join our U.S. trading desk. You will oversee trade execution quality, resolve settlement issues, and liaise with market centers and RIAs to ensure best execution.

The role requires deep knowledge of equity and option markets, regulatory rules, and EMS/OMS platforms. You will train junior traders and help optimize desk processes.

Qualifications

FINRA licenses and regulatory requirements are expected or obtained within designated timelines.
Deep knowledge of equity and option markets and market microstructure.
Experience with trade execution, settlement, and release processes.
Familiarity with algorithmic trading and RFQ platforms.
Experience supporting financial professionals and training junior traders.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of equity and option trading for best execution.
Resolve trade and settlement issues with market centers, exchanges, and back office.
Liaise with third-party money managers, RIAs, and institutional traders.
Review and approve large trades for the trading team.
Maintain accountability for trade execution quality and oversee blotter after close.
Support, guide, and train junior equity traders.
Handle escalated calls and issues.
Create desk efficiencies by leveraging available tools.
Develop relationships with market centers, execution platforms, and internal departments.
Explain product risks, fees, regulatory requirements, and policies.

Job description

Provide guidance and assistance in all aspects of equity and option trading for best possible execution
Resolve trade and settlement issues with market centers, exchanges, and back office
Liaise with third-party money managers, Registered Investment Advisors, and Institutional Traders
Review and approve large trades for the trading team
Maintain accountability for trade execution quality and review the blotter daily after close
Support, guide, and train junior equity traders
Handle and resolve escalated calls and issues
Create desk efficiencies by leveraging available means
Develop relationships with third-party market centers, execution platforms, and internal LPL departments
Explain product risks, fees, differences, regulatory requirements, and LPL Financial policies
Support other equity traders

Requirements

FINRA Series 7 & 63 or 65 licenses required
FINRA Series 55 or 57 license required or obtained within 90 days of start
Deep knowledge of equity and option markets
Thorough knowledge of marketplace rules and regulations
Demonstrated high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
4+ years of trading desk experience
3 to 5 years working with and/or supporting financial professionals
Series 4 & 24 licenses
Knowledge and experience with Review & Release
Experience trading in BETA
Experience with OMS or EMS (TRAfix preferred)
Experience with Bloomberg
Knowledge and experience with RFQ platforms
Experience with algorithmic trading
Bachelor’s degree
