Job summary

City of Grapevine is seeking a senior Equipment Operator to lead independent street construction and maintenance projects. You will operate heavier equipment, supervise teammates, and ensure safety and quality on overlay, pothole, crack sealing, and related tasks.

The role requires two years of similar experience and Texas Class A/B CDL credentials, with background checks and pre-employment screenings, while working standard full-time hours on-site.

Qualifications

• Must have two years of experience in similar field.
• Must obtain a valid Texas Class A CDL license within six months of hire or promotion with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
• Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment basic physical, drug screen, functional assessment screening (Level 1), Titmus vision screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment and machinery such as dump trucks, backhoes, jack hammers, and pavers at assigned sites.
• Possess discretionary responsibility for supervising workers on projects.
• Record job status and equipment used; coordinate traffic safety with barricades.
• Train subordinate workers in equipment operation and repair procedures.
