Job summary

Maryland Environmental Service (MES) is seeking a Senior or Lead Equipment Operator for the Montgomery County Oaks Landfill in Derwood, MD. The role focuses on commercial driving and operating heavy equipment across MES field locations.

The position requires 3–5 years of heavy equipment experience, a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement, and the ability to work independently while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 3–5 years of heavy equipment operation.
• Commercial driving experience and walking floor trailer experience preferred.
• Proficiency with at least two types of heavy equipment.
• Must demonstrate working knowledge of basic maintenance checks on multiple equipment types.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including wheel loaders, excavators, and forklifts.
• Provide commercial driving services for MES clients at field locations.
• Perform essential maintenance checks and ensure equipment safety.
