Job summary

United Rentals in Omaha, NE seeks an Equipment Mechanic (Service Tech III) to perform maintenance and repair on complex rental equipment safely and professionally. You will support training of junior technicians and maintain thorough work documentation.

The role requires 3–5 years in repair/maintenance, own tools, strong engine knowledge, and excellent customer service. Opportunities for growth into leadership and higher service levels exist within our Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
