Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Massachusetts is seeking an Equipment Engineer to support wafer fabrication in Lowell and Lawrence. You will repair, upgrade, and maintain production equipment and help manage budgets for parts and repairs.

You will collaborate with Equipment Engineers and Technicians, implement preventive maintenance, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve yield, safety, and environmental compliance across the sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related)
• 2–5 years in equipment design, maintenance, or manufacturing
• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment preferred
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards

Responsibilities

• Partner with Equipment Engineers and Technicians in wafer fab support.
• Assist in equipment selection, installation, and performance monitoring.
• Help manage budgets for repair, spare parts, and stocking.
• Ensure installations meet safety and environmental policies.
• Maintain records of maintenance and performance metrics.
• Support continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
