Job summary

The Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department seeks an Epidemiologist Supervisor to supervise Epidemiologist IIs and interns, oversee performance and workload, and align work with department priorities. The role provides epidemiologic support, analysis, and reporting to inform policies and programs.

You will lead complex data analyses, develop surveillance systems, present findings to diverse audiences, and guide resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or biostatistics.
• 4 years of epidemiologic data analysis or related public health research.
• 4 years of data analysis in team-based or applied research settings.
• 2 years of supervisory or lead experience.
• We will consider any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff performance and HR processes; advises on projects and management tasks.
• Collects, manages, and interprets complex public health data; evaluates data quality.
• Manages and analyzes data using advanced statistical methods to identify trends.
• Develops surveillance systems and leads data collection projects with multiple partners.
• Presents findings from epidemiologic investigations to diverse audiences.
