Job Description

UT Health San Antonio is transitioning from Orchard Harvest to Epic Beaker and blood bank systems as part of expanding our ambulatory environment and opening the Multispecialty and Research Hospital (MSRH). We seek analysts with experience in Epic Beaker Clinical Path, Anatomic Path, and Molecular to assist in designing, implementing, testing, validating, and maintaining Epic Beaker and blood bank software. The Epic Beaker Laboratory Information System (LIS)/Blood Bank LIS Analysts will operate under minimal supervision and report to the EpicCare Beaker Manager at UT Health San Antonio.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, test, and maintain Epic Beaker clinical, anatomic path, and blood bank software.
• Collaborate with lab team members to ensure workflow, device integration, testing, validation, and functionality meet specifications.
• Work with clinical teams to ensure software meets their needs.
• Perform ongoing maintenance and configuration updates.
• Create test scripts, timelines, and plans for application and workflow changes; conduct testing and coordinate user testing.
• Provide tier-two support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, liaise with vendors, and coordinate system updates and deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• Epic Certification must be maintained per standards.
• At least five (5) years of experience with Epic Beaker CP, AP, Blood Bank, or Molecular software development/build lifecycles.
• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments in a matrixed environment.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
• Project Management experience is a plus.
