Job summary

RLI Corp is seeking an experienced Underwriter II to handle complex submissions with higher risk and premium exposure. You will build strong relationships with agents and reinsurers while evaluating pricing models and profitability.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least five years of underwriting experience. The position offers a base pay range with a comprehensive total rewards package including ESOP, 401(k), PTO, and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, risk management, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of related experience or equivalent.
• Experience in underwriting complex submissions and premium analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, evaluate, accept, decline, rate, quote, and bind submissions with high premium or risk.
• Build strong relationships with agents, reinsurers, and contacts.
• Review complex submissions, account losses, pricing models, and profitable premiums.
• Review complex sources of profit by selecting appropriate risks.
• Assist with special projects or other duties as needed.
