Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.

Job Summary

The EVS Sr. Technician position functions at a higher level of technical expertise and may serve as a team lead in the absence of supervisory or Lead staff. Responsibility includes a variety of cleaning tasks within an assigned work area. The incumbent will be responsible for carrying out directions given by the Director and Department Managers, will assist in inspections of projects, distribute supplies to EVS technicians and will interface with campus customers and report back to the Director and Department Managers to resolve service requests and / or issues.

Responsibilities
  • GENERAL CLEANING: Cleans, disinfects and/or vacuums all common area floors according to established schedule or as otherwise directed by supervisor. Ensures floors are free of spills, stains and spots.
  • LEADERSHIP: May serve as building team lead in the absence of supervisory or lead staff. Uses and maintains assigned equipment such as auto scrubbers, vacuums, buffers, foggers, cleaning carts etc.
  • RESTROOM CLEANING: Ensures rest rooms are thoroughly cleaned, disinfects fixtures such as toilets, sinks and high touch points and mirrors cleaned, dispensers cleaned and stocked with paper products and soap and are free of dust, debris and spills.
  • EVENT SET UP: Transports recyclable materials such as paper, plastics and aluminum and may assist in event set up and breakdown as assigned.
  • LAB CLEANING: Cleans and disinfects lab floors and remove trash per established schedules. Ensures bio-hazardous waste containers are removed when 3/4 full and replaced in assigned areas. Removes red liners from trace carts in assigned areas and disinfects trace carts as required.
  • OFFICE CLEANING: Thoroughly cleans conference rooms and lounges daily, i.e., vacuums carpeted areas, remove trash, sweeps/mops tile floors and buffs.
  • COMMON AREA CLEANING: Thoroughly cleans lobbies and public rest rooms daily, i.e., vacuums carpeted areas, sweeps/mops tile floors, and buffs. Trash container exteriors cleaned weekly and trash removed daily. Cleans glass in lobbies and entrance ways daily and spot cleans as needed.
  • SPOT CLEANING: Spot cleans offices, vacuums carpeted areas, empty trash daily, dust, spot clean windows, blinds, sills etc.
  • FOLLOWS POLICIES AND OTHER DUTIES: Follows established policies and procedures such as dress code, attendance policies may assist in campus setups, moves and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization and three years of experience in a similar position in a commercial, hospital, or industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A valid driver's license preferred, Industrial/commercial cleaning experience.
  • Advanced cleaning experience, hard floor care, carpet cleaning techniques. Must be familiar with the use of auto scrubbing floor machines, buffers, carpet extractors, foggers etc.

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
