Job summary

Intrepid Potash in Hobbs, NM is seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to lead environmental compliance across air, water and waste for our largest worksite. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on field execution at processing facilities and construction sites, requiring strong regulatory knowledge and the ability to present complex data to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading environmental initiatives.
• Able to work in both office and field environments.
• Strong knowledge of major environmental regulations (CWA, CAA, RCRA, NEPA, OSHA).

How You Will Create Value

As the Senior Environmental Specialist, you’ll take a lead role with environmental compliance across air, water and waste for Intrepid’s largest worksite. This isn’t just a job ticking compliance boxes, you will also help shape and advance environmental best practices across the organization, as we continue to scale as an organization.

What You’ll Need to Be Successful?

• Demonstrated proficiency leading and advancing environmental initiatives in dynamic environments.
• Ability to balance both strategy and “hands on” field execution. You must be comfortable shifting between a climate-controlled office and rugged industrial field locations, including processing facilities and construction sites.
• Working knowledge of the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conversation and Recovery Act, NEPA, MSHA, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to generate solutions using sound judgement. Must be able to effectively gather, synthesize, analyze and package/present environmental information to internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire confidence and trust as a competent team player.
• Because time will be required in the field, you will be required to walk/stand for longer periods of time, lift up 50 pounds occasionally, climb, etc. (physical activity)
