Job summary

University Health Truman Medical Center is seeking a Senior Environmental Services Technician to lead a housekeeping crew on a 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift. You will guide a team, ensure tasks meet hospital standards, and maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and staff.

You bring at least 1 year of housekeeping experience, be able to lift 50+ lbs, and possess strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping experience, preferably in healthcare or institutional setting.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (floor machines, vacuums) safely and effectively.
• Strong leadership and team-training skills.
• Excellent English communication (reading and speaking).

Responsibilities

• Be the shift lead, directing and energizing the housekeeping crew.

• Keep an eye on safety, infection control, and overall cleanliness.

• Communicate with staff, patients, and visitors with a helpful and respectful attitude.
• Know your cleaning gear like a pro: vacuums, floor machines, polishers — you can handle it all.
• Read up on cleaning product labels and safety instructions to use them like a boss.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping (bonus if it’s in a healthcare or institutional setting).
• Confidence using floor machines, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
• A strong understanding of how to safely use cleaning products on different surfaces (no scuff marks on your watch!).
