Job summary

University Health is seeking a Sr. Environmental Services Technician for UH Lakewood to lead a housekeeping team, keeping patient areas spotless and driving pride in the shift.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Be the point person on your shift — giving clear direction and positive energy to your housekeeping crew.
• Train and mentor new team members.
• Make sure cleaning tasks are done right, on time, and up to hospital‑grade standards.
• Keep an eye on safety, infection control, and overall cleanliness.
• Roll up your sleeves and jump in when needed.
• Communicate with staff, patients, and visitors with a helpful and respectful attitude.
• Know your cleaning gear like a pro: vacuums, floor machines, polishers.
• Read up on cleaning product labels and safety instructions to use them effectively.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of experience in housekeeping (bonus if it’s in a healthcare or institutional setting).
• Confidence using floor machines, vacuums, and other cleaning equipment.
• A strong understanding of how to safely use cleaning products on different surfaces.
• Natural leadership vibes — people listen when you talk and follow your lead.
• Great communication skills (English‑speaking and reading abilities required).
• Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs and stay active for a full shift.
• If driving is part of the job, you’ll need to meet fleet safety requirements.
