Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA is seeking a Senior Environmental Services Technician to work as a Team Lead on the 2nd shift with rotating weekends. The role combines hands-on cleaning with supervising ES staff to ensure high-quality standards in patient areas.

Qualifications include a High School Grad or Equivalent; 2 years of ES experience required, with leadership experience preferred. Hospital ES experience is a plus. Evening hours Monday–Friday 3pm–11:30pm with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent is required or acceptable via substitution of 1 year housekeeping/ESD experience.
• 2 years of housekeeping/ESD experience is required.
• Previous leadership or team lead experience is preferred.
• Housekeeping/Environmental Services experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental services team and supervise staff to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to colleagues within the team.
• Maintain assigned areas and equipment in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.

Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA, is currently hiring a Senior Environmental Services Technician to work as a Team Lead. This is a full time, evening (2nd) shift position with rotating weekends. The Senior Environmental Services Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position combines hands-on service with functional supervision of environmental services staff to ensure high-quality standards are consistently met in assigned areas. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining assigned areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition, ensuring an appropriate and sanitary environment. As a leader within the Environmental Services team, you will also provide training, guidance, and support to colleagues, contributing to a positive and collaborative work culture.

Education and Experience

High School Grad or Equivalent

1 year of previous housekeeping/ESD experience can be considered in lieu of High School education

Experience: 2 years of housekeeping/ESD experience (Required)

Previous leadership or team lead experience (Preferred)

Housekeeping/Environmental Services experience in a hospital setting (Preferred)
