Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Professional Geologist to join our southeastern Pennsylvania team, based in West Chester, PA. You will contribute to environmental investigation and remediation projects at various facilities, working with multi-disciplinary staff.

The role emphasizes regulatory experience, field and office tasks, and data-intensive reporting, with opportunities to grow within a national environmental services firm and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or Environmental Science.
• 8–12 years of progressively responsible environmental assessment and remediation work experience.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, 8-hour OSHA Supervisor, and current 8-hour refresher certification are favorable.
• Experience with Pennsylvania and New Jersey regulatory programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate a variety of environmental investigation and remediation tasks such as groundwater monitoring, soil boring/well installations, operation and maintenance, and other activities.
• Responsibilities will include a mix of office and field-based tasks and will include project execution, scheduling, compliance monitoring, data analysis/reduction, and technical reporting.
• Reporting and data reduction tasks may include preparation of site maps, soil boring logs, well construction diagrams, geologic cross sections, potentiometric surface maps, and groundwater flow models.
• Field-based tasks will include coordination, supervision, and execution of work that includes, but is not limited to, collecting soil, sediment, water and air samples; overseeing drilling of soil borings and installation of monitoring wells; performing hydraulic conductivity tests; excavation monitoring; use of instrumentation; overseeing subcontractors; and coordinating complex field tasks with multiple staff and subcontractors.
