Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Project Scientist IV to join our Environmental & Natural Resources team in multiple offices, including Atlanta.

The role focuses on ecological assessments, wetland delineations, wildlife habitat evaluations, and permitting for diverse projects. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in biology or environmental science, hands-on field experience, and familiarity with regulatory requirements in the southeastern U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in biology or environmental science.
  • Minimum of 6 years leading field surveys and assessments for natural resources identification, including wetlands delineation and hydrologic determinations.
  • Experience with SQT and report writing.
  • TNQHP or QHP-IT, PWS or WPIT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Scientist on various conventional projects.
  • Mentors and may review work of entry level staff for quality purposes.
  • Provides direction to other scientists on challenging issues and guides resolutions.
  • Up to 80 percent of work is in the field with local and overnight travel.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local agency jurisdictional determinations and permitting processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of GIS and field/office equipment.
  • Assist Project Managers in acquisition of new and existing clients.
  • Conduct on-site visits to monitor progress and ensure project alignment and compliance.
