Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a Senior Scientist in Texas to advance environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients, guiding teams and coordinating fieldwork while delivering rigorous data analysis and reporting.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and regulators, ensuring safety and environmental compliance. A 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred, with growth opportunities within Jacobs’ hybrid work

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, geology or other closely related degree.
  • Professional experience with delivering environmental site characterization and remediation projects, including fieldwork methodologies and data evaluation.
  • Experience leading teams toward a common goal.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or ability to attain this certification.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, performing, or overseeing soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations.
  • Building teams of colleagues and subcontractors for fieldwork.
  • Coordinating and managing fieldwork logistics and data interpretation.
  • Technical report writing for clients and regulators.
  • Participating in meetings with clients and regulators; maintaining Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

We’re looking for a Senior Scientist to continue their career at Jacobs – where we’ll empower you to learn and grow in the delivery of environmental site characterization and remediation projects for government and global private-sector clients to make our world better.

Based in Texas, you’ll work with other scientists, engineers, subject matter experts, and project managers on exciting projects in which you will learn from others and pass along your knowledge. Responsibilities may include designing, performing, or overseeing soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water investigations, building teams of colleagues and subcontractors, coordinating and managing fieldwork logistics, data analysis and interpretation, technical report writing, and participating in meetings with clients and regulators. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to operational excellence and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety and Environmental Compliance in everything you do.

  • Experience leading teams toward a common goal.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification.

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Master’s degree in environmental sciences, geology or other closely related degree
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, contractors, and clients.
  • Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data.

The base salary range for this position is $119,400.00 to $160,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
